About Oklahoma Bats: Oklahoma bats can
sometimes get out of control. The ET Pest Control units works great
repelling the Oklahoma Bat. They
simply plug-in to any house hold outlet or they can be plugged-in on the
end of an extension cord to get into tight and confined areas.
There are 22 bat species found in Oklahoma. All bats in Oklahoma feed on
insects such as moths, mosquitoes, cucumber and June beetles,
leafhoppers and even scorpions, to name just a few. In fact, bats are
the only major predator of these night-flying insects. Some bats can
consume more than 3,000 mosquitoes each night. Oklahoma's bats use
echolocation--the emission of ultrasonic sound waves used as a sort of
"sonar"-- for navigation and for hunting insects.
Bats have adapted well to our urban and suburban environments. Bats can
be found in and around buildings, bridges, and other manmade structures.
The most common place to find bats in homes are the gable vents. Gable
vents are screened vents located in peaks of gables that aid in proper
attic ventilation. Although most bats do not have rabies, those that do
may be disoriented and unable to fly, which makes it more likely that
they will come into contact with humans.
Avoid handling bats or having
them in one's living space, as with any wild animal. Please use proper
caution. Bats are masters at
squeezing through small openings into attics, beneath shingles and
siding, and more.
If you have bats in your attic, roof, vents, or crawl spaces, the ET
Pest Control will repel them from the area.
